Hotel UMass

Rooms are nice. Convenient for UMass and not bad for downtown Amherst either. Price is good, for the area.

Morning coffee and fruit. Convenience to campus. They comped my parking fee bc it failed to get recorded.

The room lacked USB ports, staff surprised to learn about it. sink faucet wiggled, some lights took a long time to warm up (older CFL; not LEDs). The cover to the plug-ins on the desk wouldn't open.

It was an excellent value. It had food options that are unique to any 2.5 star hotel as this one.

Finding the hotel was the only problem. It is poorly marked. There is nowhere to drive up and check in. Parking is a rather long walk.

Difficulty in getting around hotel, dated and dirty room

Location and proximity to UMASS and central Amherst and dining and convenience store in same building.

The rooms are decent although the bathrooms are a bit small, and the TVs are also a bit small and dated. Generally clean facilities, although my room number 706, had a leaky toilet creating pools of water on the floor and a buildup of mold and mildew.

Remote not charged by hotel. Then after going to get a charger from desk determined the remote wasn’t working properly (only volume worked). Bit frustrating after long day.

Close to campus. Way overpriced for what it is. I'm very unhappy with my stay here and would like my money back due to the MAJOR INCONVENIENCE of 2 fire alarms going off within 1 hour of each other. Who do I contact about this?

confusing. Access through an underground garage.No defined spaces.Very loud at night.Could hear everyone in the hall coming in at 1,2 and 3am.Fire alarm went off at 5:30am& after getting out of hotel&back to bed, it did it again an hr later! TERRIBLE!!!

Location on campus was perfect! Continental breakfast was nice.

Trying to find food at 8 pm on Friday was difficult in building

ease of access and common sense ways that the hotel was operated

The hotel was somewhat overpriced for the amenities. There were very few conferences and I stayed the week after the graduation so there were not high demands for the rooms and yet the pricing was peak rate pricing

Clean with a very nice staff. Perfect location for campus activity.

Breakfast was rather minimal - I was a bit surprised.

I liked how close it was to everything, right on campus. This was extremely helpful because I am disabled and use crutches to get around.

The handicapped accessible bathroom/ shower was fine but there was a vanity/shelf for towels, soaps etc...right in between the sink and the toilet. It was not very sturdy and very much in the way. I couldn't access the safety rail to get to sink safely.

Staff was exceedingly helpful, went above and beyond.

Minor design flaws - the need for rubber stoppers in closets so the sliding doors, which moved easily, didn't slam against the opposite side. Corners in the shower to keep water from splashing out and ruining the bathroom door

The location. And the breakfast was nice.

The room was small and hot, with no ability to control the temperature. The bed was soft and the pillows were hard, contributing to an overall terrible night's sleep. There didn't seem to be any staff around at all.

Could have used an extra blanket.

The location was great and central to the places on the UMass campus I needed to access. The room was well cleaned.

Location, staff, amenities

If you're visiting UMass the location is unbeatable. Beds were comfortable, room clean, building and parking garage plus surrounding areas definitely safe.

The staff was hit or miss, but it's somewhat expected when the hotel staff are students in the college's hospitality program. That didn't my really bother me (everybody has to start somewhere) but the price point did. A "training" hotel should be cheaper
